Fight over taxi ends with slaying

A man was killed and two others were injured early yesterday morning when two groups of people were apparently fighting for a taxi, authorities said.

One of the two men who were injured, surnamed Wang, was stabbed several times in the abdomen and was suffering some hemopneumothorax, remained in the intensive care unit of a hospital yesterday.

Wang said he had a late dinner with two colleagues and encountered the other group when the three came to Tengke Road to find a taxi. The two sides got into an argument, which escalated into a fight. One of Wang's colleagues, surnamed Li, was stabbed and was pronounced dead after being rushed to the hospital. Li, from Anhui Province, was 21.

The suspect who stabbed Li was caught, police said.

Authorities said the case remained under investigation.
