Film festival to select promising film, TV and variety show

THE coming 20th Shanghai International Film Festival, to be held from June 17 to 26, will select promising Internet pitches of film, TV and variety show.
Today a total of 15 original projects from creative teams of the country were vying for a chance to be displayed and demonstrated at the festival. The winners are expected to receive investment and technical support from veteran producers.
Meanwhile, the festival also released the name list of a batch of acclaimed films to be screened during the fest's 4k Restoration film unit.
The classic movies which have been remastered digitally in 4K will boast impressive colors and contrast from the old film footage.
Among them are David Lynch's thriller films "Eraser Head," "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me," Akira Kurosawa's action movie "The Seven Samurai," King Hu's drama film "Legend of the Mountain," Mel Gibson's epic movie "Brave Heart," Arthur Penn's crime film "Bonnie and Clyde" and Michael Mann's cop movie "Heat."
