Film producer Shi Jianxiang receives award from Xinhua News Agency

LOCAL entrepreneur and film producer Shi Jianxiang received an award from Xinhua News Agency Hong Kong Branch today for his special contribution to the celebrations of Hong Kong's 18th anniversary of returning to China this year.

Shi, chairman of Shanghai Kuailu Investment Group, last month also sponsored the Hong Kong Youth Music Festival to explore and support young music talents.

Shi is now producing highly-expected films “Ip Man 3” and “The Bombing." He has also started a new charity program that will offer educational grants to emerging filmmakers.
