Financial disputes on the rise in Jing'an court

INVESTORS and consumers filed 370 financial complaints to the Jing’an District People’s Court last year, involving hundreds of millions of yuan.

Among them, the number of disputes over bank savings and financing products increased 300 percent compared to that of 2015, according to the court.

Also, credit card scam still remains a headache. Criminals make fake cards or apply new cards using other’s personal information and withdraw money in other regions and countries. In these cases the victims should also take due responsibility for leaking their personal information.

In a case, a businessman surnamed Chen gave the copyprints of his ID card and credit card to others as to facilitate the money transfer. But criminals managed to obtain his information, used it to apply for a new card and withdrew 220,000 yuan (US$32,402) from his account. As Chen leaked his personal information, he was ordered to take 70 percent responsibility of his loss.
