Forum to look at UN role in China
REPRESENTATIVES of the United Nations will attend a culture forum co-sponsored by the Jiefang Daily Group and Shanghai Daily today to review the three decades of the UN in China.
Since starting cooperation with China in 1979, the UN has set up 22 organizations with more than 700 employees in this country.
The forum will address the partnership between the UN and China, the impact of diversified culture on China, and the world's future development.
Participants include Ma Heli, coordinating UN representative in China; Abhimayu Singh, representative of UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in China; Victoria Sekitoleko, representative of UN Food and Agriculture Organization in China; and Napoleon Navarro, deputy division chief of UN Development Program in China.
The forum will be at the Jinjiang Hotel. Invitation cards are required for attendance.
