A FORMER real estate agency employee was charged with fraud yesterday by Jing'an District prosecutors for allegedly using the agency's information to swindle rent.
After Zhang resigned in March, he allegedly sent a client an e-mail in the name of the landlord and claimed the account receiving the rent was changed. The client believed him, and sent 16,000 yuan (US$2,343) to the account Zhang offered. Zhang quickly spent the money.
