WHILE some Chinese cities including Beijing, Shenzhen and Dalian have cut or canceled the taxi fuel surcharge, Shanghai will not adjust its current 1-yuan (16 US cents) surcharge, city officials said yesterday. Some cities cut the surcharge after the National Development and Reform Commission lowered fuel prices on June 9.
