Gang deported
FOUR illegal immigrants from East Asia had been deported after serving one year in jail for theft, the Exit-Entry Administration of Shanghai Public Security Bureau said yesterday.
The four men, plus two others still in prison, were convicted last May and fined 2,000 yuan (US$303) each. In January 2010, the gang targeted downtown clothes stores and stole items valued at about 40,000 yuan. They stuffed the clothes into specially designed bags to foil stores' alarm systems.
