Garb Inspired By Norway's Mountains, China's Red
NORWAY'S staff at the World Expo 2010 will wear uniforms inspired by the Scandinavian country's traditional mountain anoraks and highlighting traditional Chinese red.
"We chose the color as an homage to the host country, because in Chinese traditions red is a positive and lucky color," Johan Rye-Holmboe, one of the designers, said yesterday.
Designers drew outlines of Norway's coastline and mountains on the uniforms, made the pieces light for the hot climate in Shanghai and called the collection "+47," the international dial code of Norway.
