Garden adopts out its stray cats
RESIDENTS can apply to adopt stray cats found at the Shanghai Botanic Garden, today's Oriental Morning Post reported.
There are about 120 stray cats in the garden, which is being closed for a revamp, according to the Shanghai Small Animal Protection Association. Many of the cats were abandoned by their owners.
The association will publish the cats' photos on its Website (www.ssapa.org.cn) for adoption after desexing them.
The garden will tighten scrutiny of visitors carrying cats, garden officials said. Managers are also considering setting up shelters for strays in the garden where cat lovers can feed them.
