Gas poisons resident

A MAN in his 50s was seriously poisoned in a gas leak this morning at his home in Zhabei District, police said.
He is still in critical condition this afternoon after being rushed to the nearby Zhabei Central Hospital, authorities said.
Police said the cause of the leak was unclear and the investigation was ongoing.
The leak happened about 9:30am in the community in Lane 1725 Gonghexin Road, neighbors said. The stench of gas led rescuers to an apartment on the sixth floor.
The victim, not identified, was found unconscious and foaming at the mouth when rescuers broke door down.
Authorities said the kitchen's gas valve was open when the man was found.
