German students join Shanghai vocational skills competition

A TOTAL of 385 students competed today at the final 10 programs of Shanghai's 7th “Star Plan” Vocational College Skills Competition held at the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum.

For the first time, the competition had five participants from Germany, which is well-known for its vocational education and training.

These five students are from Deggendorf and competed in two programs, electrical installation and maintenance and electronic technique.

Their participation is part of the city's efforts in better connecting local vocational education with international standards.

Other students also visited the museum today to watch the competition and experience vocational skills on the site, such as making soaps and arranging flowers.

A forum was also held about vocational education.
