LOCAL quality authorities will strengthen the inspection of exterior glass manufacturers in Shanghai, after several incidents of glass shattering and falling from skyscrapers this summer.
The Shanghai Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision said at least 140 firms will be inspected. No one has been hurt in Shanghai this year, but in Hangzhou a 19-year-old woman, struck by a window from a highrise, needed part of her leg amputated in Shanghai last month.
