Global entrepreneurs compete for best startup projects
ENTREPRENEURS from around the world have submitted over 500 startup projects for a competition at the ongoing International Community Festival in Shanghai, the organizer said today.
The projects initiated by entrepreneurs from countries including the United States, Australia and Canada are focused on creative design, marketing, medical science and new technology, according to the Dobe Group, the organizer of the festival.
Among them, 35 entries will be selected as winners during the festival that will run through Friday. The winners will have the chances to dine and communicate with 12 investors to pitch their ideas. The winning projects will be publicized during the closing ceremony of the festival on Friday.
Meanwhile, to encourage the entrepreneurship among locals, a dozen of world's famous startup organizations including Cyzone and Workface, has announced to establish a community league at the festival to support young entrepreneurs.
The Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Community will hold lectures to guide entrepreneurs to better manage their startups along with other activities. During the festival, for instance, group discussions among entrepreneurs, drama performances from Africa and book clubs will be organized at over 30 creative zones of Dobe across the city, the organizer said.
