HK Milestone
THE foundations of the Hong Kong Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo were completed yesterday as Henry Tang, chief secretary for administration of Hong Kong, added the last of the concrete.
"I am pleased to announce that Hong Kong's participation in the Shanghai World Expo has entered a new phase," said Tang.
Under the theme "Hong Kong - the Infinite City," the Pavilion will highlight Hong Kong's rare characteristics and showcase the city's creativity as well as its connectivity with the mainland and the rest of the world.
The stand-alone Hong Kong Pavilion is located in front of the China Pavilion on the Pudong side of the Expo site.
It will have an exhibition area of about 800 square meters.
