Heavy rain, thunderstorm predicted for tonight

WEATHER forecasters have issued a thunderstorm warning for tonight with the hourly rainfall expected to reach up to 40 millimeters.

Due to southwesterly moisture, Shanghai will be wrapped up in rain until Thursday, at times with thunder and lightning.

The wet spell will not affect the city’s temperatures with the mercury mainly fluctuating between 13 and 19 degrees Celsius through the weekend.

Western and northern districts of the city are likely to see more rains. Heavy rainfall is forecast for tonight and tomorrow with heavy winds.

The rain will wind down late on Thursday with the weekend featuring clear skies.
