High school student drops dead

A HIGH school student dropped dead yesterday while writing a Chinese essay at Yucai High School's Malu branch in Jiading District.
The school refused to reveal the name of the grade-12 student, who was in his final year, according to the headmaster surnamed Wang.
School officials said after the student collapsed, an ambulance came and sent him to hospital after first-aid, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Wang said the boy appeared healthy and had no record of diseases. He was a former long-distance running champion at the school.
The school has organized psychological aid to all the students, said Wang.
Jiading District police said the death was still under investigation.
