High-tech visions of future

CISCO Systems Inc will allow visitors to experience high-technology network life in 2020 in its pavilion at the World Expo 2010.

The United States-based global network equipment provider today unveiled details of its exhibition in the Expo's 18th corporate pavilion.

Cisco's pavilion, with the theme of "Smart + Connected Life," will showcase how to make transport, security, medication, utilities and government affairs easier by advanced network technology.

It will portray a life where cities can share data over a broadband network.

All exhibits in the pavilion are based on the current technologies and can be realized within 10 years, said Anthony Elvey, pavilion director.

The pavilion will invite Chinese families to connect with family members from around the world on live videos. Visitors can also teach Mandarin or other languages to students at International Schools in South Korea.

The main show will be an eight-minute movie about a day in the life of a Chinese family in the year 2020.

The 1500-square-meter pavilion on the Puxi side of the Expo site has two floors.
