Hospital alleged to give salary late
EMPLOYEES at a local hospital say their paychecks have been delayed without a proper explanation.
A customer service employee with Muyang Hospital in downtown Xuhui District told Shanghai Daily that the hospital "seldom paid them on schedule in the past."
The employee, identified as "Joan" online, declined to disclose her real name. She said the hospital was supposed to pay last month's salary on Saturday. But there's still no sign of the money, she said.
Joan said she usually works six days a week and did not get paid overtime.
"It's common that we did not get our pay in time," said a receptionist at the front office yesterday. Sometimes the workers get paid five days late, sometimes it lags for 10 days, the receiver said.
But a hospital human resources official, surnamed Qi, denied the employees' accusations and claimed there's no wrongdoing.
