Hospital caught off guard as thieves cut its cable
HUNDREDS of local patients in a downtown hospital were affected this morning when a section of the area's telecommunications cable was stolen, shutting down the hospital's computer and telephone systems.
The Zhabei District Central Hospital had to make appointments with patients at the registration windows instead of through its computer system. Doctors also had to write out prescriptions on paper.
About 600 families living in the vicinity were also affected. Police are still hunting the thieves.
