Isetan renovations move along

THE entire first floor of the Isetan Department Store on Nanjing Road W. has been closed for renovation.
The store in the Westgate Mall will be the first department store in Shanghai to arrange its layout according to three lifestyles - weekdays, weekends and women with children.
It will reopen fully by next year's Spring Festival. Isetan, which spreads over seven floors, closed its seventh floor section, which sold household items, in February.
Isetan takes up a third of the Westgate Mall complex - the rest includes restaurants, cinemas and some major international brand stores.
The other Isetan shopping floors are still open but will be closed as renovations proceed. The cosmetics area will be expanded from the current half floor to more than one floor.
