Jail time for ‘overreacting’ bouncers
TWO security guards who beat up fans at British singer Dua Lipa’s September 12 concert will be detained for 10 days, police said yesterday.
Two guards at the concert assaulted some fans.
Live Nation Entertainment, the organizer of the concert, said in a statement yesterday that police had ordered the security company which employed the guards to reflect on the incident and rectify its rules.
The company said the guards on the scene were maintaining order and keeping the audience safe, helping a woman fan who fell to go to hospital, while a few security guards “overreacted” and got into fights with concert-goers.
The company has apologized to the audience and to Dua Lipa and her team.
