Japanese student in coma after falling from Fudan building

A Japanese student at Shanghai Fudan University fell from a school building this morning and is still in coma despite emergency treatment, police say.
The 28-year-old woman student fell from the Foreign Student Building on Handan Road of Yangpu District at about 9am. She was immediately rushed to the Changhai Hospital. Doctors said she was in critical condition.
The cause of her fall was still under investigation, police told Shanghai Daily this afternoon.
"We are not sure whether she jumped from the building or not. There were no witnesses around," a police officer said. "We can only wait until she wakes up and tells."
The university also confirmed the incident to Eastday.com, but the name and other information about the student were not disclosed.
