SIX suspects have been detained for allegedly kidnapping a 16-year-old girl on Saturday in Chongming Island, police said yesterday.
The suspects kidnapped the girl on Saturday night when she was on her way back home from a class. They then called the girl's parents, demanding a 100,000 yuan (US$15,000) ransom, police said. But they were caught early the next day and the girl released.
