Kimono and a wedding invitation

VISITORS to the World Expo can try on Japanese kimono during Yokohama Week at the Japanese Industry Pavilion this week, organizers said yesterday.
They may also witness a traditional Japanese wedding ceremony, learn the art of flower arranging and hear how the lives of Japanese people connect with the sea.
"The activities during Yokohama Week can provide visitors a rare chance to have a taste of Japanese culture," said Zhang Shengbo, an official at the pavilion. "And it is really interactive."
The flower arranging show will be presented by Yokohama artist Kaoruko on Thursday.
People interested in trying on kimono can drop by the pavilion on Friday and a wedding ceremony will take place on Saturday with three couples tying the knot in traditional Japanese style.
A show about Japan's marine life will be staged on Sunday.
Today, Yokohama Week is being launched with a performance by the singer and songwriter Masahiro.
