Kitchen fracas ends in bloody death of a cook

A local restaurant cook was stabbed to death by his colleague yesterday in downtown Xuhui District, Shanghai police said.
The suspect, surnamed Xiang, was detained soon after the attack. Police said the two started a quarrel at about 7pm when the victim, surnamed Xiang, spilled boiling water on Xianger.
In a rage, Xiang stabbed Wen with a knife. Wen was pronounced dead when arriving in a nearby hospital.
Xiang fled the scene but was caught four hours later, police said.
The restaurant in the busy Xujiahui commercial area is closed today for "equipment maintenance."
