Love pair held for attempted murder

A WOMAN and her lover have been arrested for trying to murder her husband.
Each of them has shifted the blame onto the other, saying that it was the other who suggested it, prosecutors said.
Shi Minjuan, claimed her lover, Ren Jun, wanted to kill her husband surnamed Deng as she had refused to divorce him, while her lover said the woman asked for his help because she wanted the family property, prosecutors alleged.
Shi asked Ren to kill her husband early this year because "she didn't like him" and wanted to be with Ren, Ren said. He said he was coerced by the woman, but only planned to hurt Deng not kill him.
On the night of May 27 Ren attacked Deng with a brick while the latter was playing video games, the two struggled and Shi also joined in on the attack.
Deng's family members came to rescue him after they heard the noise. Deng suffered injuries to the head, but they were not life threatening.
Jiading District prosecutors charged them with attempted murder because they had conspired before the attack and had intended to kill.
