Lujiazui fire photos stirs concern on Internet

SNAPSHOTS of flames and black fumes arising from a skywalk in the Lujiazui business district in Pudong drew enormous attention on the Internet early this afternoon.
Police confirmed that a fire occurred around 2:50pm under the skywalk and was put out in about 10 minutes. No one was hurt in the accident.
Police suspected the fire was caused by two welders working on an outdoor decoration. Their welding sparks ignited a fire on the plastic flowers and landscape lights hung on a steel frame.
The two welders were taken away by police for questioning.
The photos posted on the Internet showed the fire against a background of landmark buildings in Lujiazui and raised a lot of public concern.
