Lujiazui roads flooded by broken water main

A water main burst this morning and water gushed skyward like a big fountain in the city's Lujiazui financial area. Flooding caused traffic congestion in the vicinity.
The accident happened around 7:20am when the water pipe was damaged by an excavator that was digging up a road near a construction site at the corner of Yincheng Road and Lujiazui Ring Road.
The broken pipe flooded the two roads and snarled traffic. Policemen rushed to the site to direct traffic.
Repair work is still going on when this report is filed.
