Lujiazui skyway project enters final stage
The construction of Century Corridor, a skywalk in the financial district of Lujiazui, Pudong, has entered the final stage with the arrival of a 48.8-ton steel girder which was hoisted over Yincheng Road this morning.
The 543-meter-long skywalk has a width of 9 meters and uses about 3,500 tons of steel. It is scheduled for completion around the middle of next year.
The skyway starts from the second floor of the International Financial Center, overpasses Yincheng Road M. to reach the Jin Mao Tower and ends at Lujiazui Ring Road. There will be three access ramps and one platform connected with the second floor of the World Financial Center.
The Century Corridor will become a new landmark in Lujiazui, project officials said.
Passengers can go to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Jin Mao Tower, Super Brand Mall, Lujiazui Metro Station and other major venues in Lujiazui via the skywalk, instead of walking across high-traffic streets.
