'Mafia fight' detentions
POLICE have detained 11 suspects following a "mafia-style fight" in which masked men stabbed and slashed three people in downtown Xintiandi.
Officers announced yesterday that two suspects were detained on Sunday, following the incident at the Xintiandi SPA salon the previous day.
Nine others were later rounded up, said police.
Officers said they would continue to crack down on such "mafia-like fights."
The reason for the attack is under investigation, police said.
Three salon employees were stabbed, slashed and beaten by two carloads of men armed with knives and iron rods in Xintiandi in Luwan District, police said.
The injured are all in a stable conditions in a local hospital. One of the three victims, surnamed Yan, was seriously wounded.
