Man beats wife to death while drunk

A drunken man who allegedly beat his wife to death in July has been arrested and charged with murder, Jiading District prosecutors said today.
The 32-year-old suspect, surnamed Hua, came home drunk in the early hours of July 30 after hanging out with a friend the whole night.
He reeked of alcohol and infuriated his wife who worked till midnight for their family-run car washing business.
Prosecutors said Hua beat his wife with a leather belt and hit his son with a towel. The woman fell into shock and died at the scene due to chest and abdominal injuries.
Neighbors were woken up around 3am by the loud noises and a security guard in the community called the police and the ambulance.
