Man catches, saves boy in four-story fall
A PASSERBY likely saved the life of a five-year-old boy by catching him as he fell from the fourth floor of a residential building this morning in Baoshan District, officials said.
A passerby surnamed Wang, 59, saw him about to fall about 9 am and rushed to catch him. The boy was treated at Changhai Hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He had been alone while his parents worked at a nearby market.
Wang was treated at Baogang Hospital for injuries to his arms from catching the boy.
On Sunday night, two sisters, one age five and the other seven, fell to their deaths after being left home alone at a high-rise building in the Pudong New Area. They were believed to have fallen from their 13th-floor apartment.
