Man charged with killing female cabbie

THE Minhang District Prosecutors' Office yesterday charged a man in his 20s with killing the female driver of an illegal cab.
The suspect allegedly took the "black cab" in April. On arriving at the destination, he discovered that he had forgotten to take money with him and failed to reach an agreement with the driver about paying the fare later. Realizing that the driver was calling her husband to get help, the suspect allegedly produced a knife and slashed the woman's neck before fleeing. She died at the scene.
