Man detained for overdrafts

POLICE detained a man for maliciously overdrawing 20,000 yuan (US$2,924) from his credit card with a fake ID, said Waigaoqiao Frontier Inspection Station police yesterday.
The man, surnamed Fan from Jiangsu Province, arrived in Shanghai for work several years ago. Faced with financial difficulties, he forged an ID card and started to overdraw, police said. The case is still under investigation.
