A 64-year-old local man died yesterday after he fell in the elevator in his apartment building. He fell from the ground floor directly into the garage under it.
The elevator was under repair, but there was no warning sign, said the dead man's son, surnamed Fu, who lives in a neighborhood on Xietu Road. There were two workers in the elevator when the elderly man stepped into it. The man had planned to take the elevator to go down to the garage.
