Man falls, dies on mall roof
A man fell to his death from a high-rise building in downtown Jing'an District yesterday.

Police said they received the alert call at 11:19am yesterday and the man was pronounced dead later. Police ruled out of the possibility of murder.
The man, surnamed Ni, 30, is a local citizen, said police.
Police added that according to the man's relatives the man "was in low spirits and depressed due to financial difficulties recently."
The body was carried away by firefighters by noon.
Someone claimed online via on a microblog that the man "jumped off after he was rejected for a visa by the US Consulate in Shanghai."
The consulate has a visa section office inside the Westgate Mall.
Wylita L. Bell, an information officer with the US Consulate General Shanghai, told Shanghai Daily that "The US Consulate General Shanghai was saddened to hear of the death of a Chinese citizen at the Westgate Mall in Shanghai. The death appears to have no connection to the consulate."
