Man falls off bus when door opens without warning

A bus conductor's mishandling caused the rear door of the moving bus to open suddenly and a passenger surnamed Wu fell off the vehicle, his leg crushed by one wheel, today's Shanghai Morning Post reported.
The accident happened yesterday morning and the victim was rushed to the nearby Putuo District Center Hospital. The man's leg was fractured and leg muscles were torn. The doctors said if his leg fails to heal from surgery, it has to be amputated.
Wu said his fall was caused by the conductor's wrong operation to open the door slightly to free a passenger's squeezed bag.
Police are looking at the bus surveillance video for evidence while technicians are checking the bus door for clues.
