Man held for killing pal

A MIDDLE-AGED man has been arrested for killing a friend in a dispute over debts and hiding his body in the trunk of a car, Yangpu District police said yesterday.
Police received a report on April 19, complaining about a foul odor and blood exuding from a car parked on Yongji Road. Nearby residents said the car had been parked there for a couple of days, and the smell started emanating three or four days ago.
The police arrived on the scene and found a rotten body of a man in the trunk of the car. They said the victim had been murdered.
The suspect, surnamed Shen, was caught yesterday. Police said Shen killed the victim surnamed Song, who was of the same age as Shen, because of a dispute over debts. No other details were given.
