Man hurt in car and lorry smash

A MAN was injured when a lorry and a car collided on a local expressway yesterday afternoon. The injured man is believed to be the driver of the lorry.
City traffic authorities received a report that a truck and a car had been in an accident on G15 Expressway, about 1 kilometer south of Xinzhuan Highway, about 5pm. The impact sent the lorry towards a green roadside area, said police. A road sign crashed down by the truck, damaging the driver's cab and blocking part of the expressway, a witness said. Traffic was diverted to nearby roads while the area was cleared. The expressway was the scene of a fatal accident on March 16, when two vans collided and a driver died in the fire that followed.
