A WORKER was injured yesterday in an explosion at a chemical factory in Heqing Town, Pudong New Area.
The explosion at 8:40am caused a strong air wave that crushed the windows and doors of 10 nearby residential buildings and damaged solar panels on roof tops.
The worker, 45, suffered burns on his face, head and hair. He was sent to Shanghai Seventh People's Hospital and listed in stable condition, said hospital officials.
