Man in suicide bid after deaths

A MAN tried to commit suicide after a mother and a daughter were found dead in the city.
The man surnamed Wan, 51, suffered a wound to the head and was still in a critical condition in hospital, according to Shanghai television news last night.
Neighbors said the man was a "boyfriend" of the mother and had emotional problems.
Pudong New Area police said the case was under investigation.
The mother and daughter were found dead about 3pm on Tuesday in an apartment of Haisan residential area on Gushan Road, Pudong.
The mother, Ding Jixiang, managed a real estate agency on Boshan Road nearby and had not gone to the office since Monday afternoon.
An employee went to her apartment, raised no response and alerted police.
Two corpses, Ding and her daughter, 18, were found in a pool of blood when police broke into the apartment.
Residents said no fighting or screaming had been heard.
Police cordoned off the scene and used sniffer dogs in a bid to trace the killer.
Ding was a kind woman, neighbors said. Ding and her daughter rented the apartment and only moved there about three weeks ago, a neighbor said.
