Man killed, 3 people hurt in fight
A man was stabbed to death and three others were injured yesterday morning in a fight in the city's Baoshan District, police said.
The stabbing occurred about 10am in a neighborhood on Jipu Road. The middle-aged suspect and the victims "were deaf," said a neighbor surnamed Liu. The suspect was among the injured.
Witnesses said the man carried a long knife to the apartment on the third floor where the family lived, the apparent culmination of a fight that started about two months ago.
One man was dead, and his younger brother suffered chest injuries and was listed in critical condition. A woman was wounded in the wrist, police said. Neighbors said the woman was stabbed as she tried to grab the knife. The injured victims were taken to a hospital for treatment, said the police, who caught the suspect.
Six people were living in the apartment, five of whom were described as deaf and mute.
