Man robbed, stabbed waitress
A MAN accused of killing a woman in Zhejiang Province's Hangzhou City after robbing her of 2,000 yuan (US$313) on Monday has been caught in Shanghai, police said yesterday.
The suspect, Chen Qianqian, killed the victim, surnamed Wu after the robbery, police said. The killing in downtown Hangzhou on Monday raised concerns among residents.
Wu was found dead on a stone bench late at night in a greenery area near West Lake Avenue. Wu, 23, was stabbed to death, police said.
She worked as a waitress in KTV venture, said the police.
Chen, 21, who fled, was caught in Shanghai on Wednesday, police said. Chen told police that he went to Hangzhou on July 16 and soon spent the money that he carried. He said he took the money before stabbing Wu.
