Man screams, jumps out window
A MAN jumped out of a window of a residential building after screaming for help in Xuhui District yesterday morning and police said it was likely he was delusional.
The 33-year-old Hebei Province native, surnamed Liu, smashed a window with his fists, screamed for help and then jumped out of the window from a passageway between the fifth and sixth floor at a building in Jinxin Neighborhood on Gujing Road, witnesses said. He landed on a second-floor platform. He suffered broken bones and cuts, and was in serious but stable condition yesterday evening, Shanghai No. 6 People's Hospital said.
Neighbors said Liu had lived in the building on the 13th floor for less than a week.
Police said Liu may have a mental disorder and been delusional right before he jumped. There was no evidence of a crime, police said.
Community officials said Liu's computer was running a violent game when they checked his apartment.
