Man stuns Metro passengers in overpass jump-off

A man jumped off a Metro station overpass amid rain this noon after quarreling with his girlfriend, but he soon got up and left himself, leaving many witnesses stunned.
According to the accounts of several witnesses, the young man quarreled loudly with his girlfriend and suddenly leaped from the overpass linking Metro Line 4 and Line 10 at Hongqiao Road Station. He landed on the sidewalk right in front of a KFC store.
"It's horrible. I just bought an egg tart and then saw a man jumping from overhead," said a blogger on Weibo.com.
Others snapped pictures of the man with smart phones and posted them online. The man was seen crouching on the sidewalk next to a fallen bike.
Shanghai Metro operator has confirmed the incident and said the man later stood up and left by himself.
Police are now investigating the case.
