Man who punctured tires annoyed over car alarms
A MAN who has been caught for allegedly slashing and puncturing his neighbors' tires this week told police he was annoyed by car alarms set off by firecrackers, officers said yesterday.
The suspect, surnamed Fei, lives in the Shanghai Kangcheng community in Minhang District where 26 cars were vandalized on March 11. Fei was caught at his home on Thursday.
The owners found their tires damaged after the cars were parked in their proper places overnight.
They said they had no clue as to the motive, and blamed the property management company's lax administration for the damage.
Also this month, nearly 50 security guards at the community blocked driveways in a protest over what they called low pay and long working hours.
