Metro urges Shanghai Disneyland visitors to avoid taking inflatable balloons on trains
SECURITY guards at Shanghai Disneyland Metro station are dissuading passengers who take their balloons on to the train every day, Metro Express reported yesterday.
The balloons are considered as explosives and could pose safety threat to the Metro system. Passengers must deflate them before getting on the train.
During weekdays, they stop about 20 balloons a day. Over the weekend, the number reaches 50.
Prior to the Disneyland’s opening, the Metro police had asked staff at the Disneyland to tell visitors not to carry the balloons into the subway. However, the security guards found the balloons that passengers carried were mainly given free by stores at Disney Town, which is outside the Disneyland, where most visitors are not aware of relevant rules.
Most passengers were cooperative and would deflate the balloons, Metro police said.
