An 18-year-old migrant woman who delivered a baby boy by herself at home yesterday is in stable condition, officials from Ruijin Hospital said this afternoon.
No information was available about the baby's condition.
The woman gave birth by herself around noon and was found by her family in the evening after they returned from work.
The family called an ambulance and she was sent to Ruijin and the baby to Shanghai Children's Hospital.
Her perineum was badly torn during the delivery and was sutured at the hospital, doctors said.
