More original Chinese animated movies on the way

Shanghai Animation Film Studio will team up with online ticketing website WXmovie to develop a series of original Chinese animated movies, officials said today.
In the following five years, a couple of cartoon movies with "Internet gene" will be released.
The strategic corporation will cover almost all parts of film production and marketing from pitching, scriptwriting, filming to online marketing and ticketing.
A research and development center will also be set up in Shanghai aimed to develop a complete industry chain.
Qian Jianping, director of the Shanghai Animation Film Studio said that it is increasingly important for Chinese film makers to produce movies with bigger Internet vision and thinking as Internet is now influencing domestic movie business in many ways.
On August 7, the studio's highly anticipated animated film version of the classic Chinese animated series "Black Cat Detective" will be released nationally.
The movie is expected to evoke a childhood memory and nostalgia among China's post 70s and 80s generations of people.
